February 29th 2024
The first Monday in March each year will mark the celebration following recent legislation.

The General Assembly of the State of South Carolina has officially declared the first Monday in March of each year as “Water Professionals Day,” beginning with the first observance on Monday, March 4, 2024, and continuing annually on the first Monday of March.

With the passing of this legislation, professionals working in all areas of the drinking water, wastewater and stormwater industries are honored for their dedication to serving the communities and residents of South Carolina.

The bill, sponsored by Spartanburg Representatives Max Hyde and Roger Nutt and supported in the Senate by Spartanburg Senator Scott Talley, was signed into law on the 29th of February by South Carolina Governor, Henry McMaster.

“Our team members at Spartanburg Water are water professionals of the highest standard. It is because of their service that our Spartanburg community can continue to thrive, while ensuring residents and businesses enjoy a quality of life that continues to attract so many to South Carolina and Spartanburg County,” said Guy Boyle, Chief Executive Officer at Spartanburg Water.
